Amanda & Colby's Wedding

Rodrick posted the proofs from our wedding last weekend on his blog (see them here). I love the selection he put up and I'm having a hard time telling which pictures he took and which ones I did now. =) Oh, well, I guess I should have just read his blog! He gave me credit for the cake image. That's the one I could remember was mine. Thanks for the credit, Rodrick!

Check out his blog and feel free to let me know what you think! Best regards...

Camera Toss (The Blog)

If you're like me, you've probably never heard of Camera Tossing. It's a very interesting read and the resulting images are unique and fascinating, but I don't think I have a camera that I'd be willing to regularly toss into the air for any reason. =) The above link will take you to a blog devoted entirely to photos by cameras mid-flight.

Custom Wedding Albums

Have you seen wedding albums recently? Rodrick (of Happily Everlasting) and I shoot all of our weddings together and he puts together the most unique, custom albums to really WOW the socks off of our customers. Here's a link to check out the most recent one he posted on his blog...

Isn't that amazing? A lot of work and time goes into creating these, but the end result is so beautiful, I can't imagine going back to standard-type albums for weddings.

New Pics :: Adelman Girls

This is such a sweet family... It's a Grandmother and her three daughters. We had a lovely day to visit the gardens together and the crape myrtle was gloriously blooming. Here's one of our faves, but you can click on it to see the rest of the proofs.

New Pics :: The Love Sisters

It's not every day that you see three sisters all in their wedding dresses. The Love sisters all got married in the last year or so, and decided it would be fun to have a joint bridal shoot just for kicks and giggles since they could all still fit into their wedding dresses. That's more than I could do a year after I got married! Kudos to them! Anyway, here are the pics. There were a lot of really great pics, so check out the proof page by clicking on the photo below.

Canon vs. Nikon

Well, after trying the newest Nikon Pro equipment (D200) and the newest Canon (5D), we're shifting entirely to Canon. The next step is to sell all of our new Nikon equipment that we've been using the last few months.

It has been an interesting exercise and a most interesting argument (Nikon vs. Canon). There are a lot of similarities to the age-old "PC vs. Mac" argument. I won't go into all of the details here, but just think about one thing: Regardless of whether you're a PC or a Mac user (I use both), have you ever heard a Mac user enthusiastically shifting over to PC? Probably not. I've never heard of one. But I've heard dozens of PC users who have shifted to Mac. The problem is that once they've made that shift, PC users tend to discount everything they say because they're "Mac users." Do you see what I'm saying?

Same thing goes with Nikon and Canon users. Over the last couple of years I've heard a lot of Nikon users moving over to Canon, but not vice versa. When you see that happening consistently, you have to put aside all of your personal preferences and try to see past all of the unobjective prejudices that have built up over time in loyalty to the brand (or whatever it is) that you have used for so long and come to associate yourself with.

And thus begins our wonderful Canon experience. =) Not an inexpensive change, but hopefully a very worthwhile one.

Isn't that a sweet looking piece of technology? You should try shooting it. Amazing...

Wedding Last Weekend

Last weekend we photographed a great wedding as associate photographer to Rodrick Rhoads at Happily Everlasting (we shoot all weddings together). It was a real Italian Catholic wedding... and what a great time it was! The church was grand right down to the front doors and the reception was a real celebration. Much fun was had by all. You can see about 10 pictures already on Rodrick's blog here.

It's hard to sort through who took the pictures after the fact, but I'm sure I took #1 and #3 and possibly #5 and 6, but I can't remember for certain. Rodrick thought maybe he took those. We'll both claim the best ones. =)

If you check out Rodrick's blog, check out his profile picture. He just put up the one I took for him last week. Actually, here it is...

Oh, and how's this for a cool recent experience? A local TV station called and wants us to quote doing all of their news anchor headshots plus thousands of 8x10 prints for the fair, etc. It was nice to hear them say that they really like our style and quality and if they could afford us, they'd like to use us. They're looking for someone who would want to trade in kind for TV advertising first, so we'll have to wait our turn for a crack at the job, since we don't really need or want that much TV advertising right now. Experiences like this are always a great encouragement to us as we continue strive to improve. Our goal really is to be counted among the best photographers in Oklahoma.

New Pics :: The Wadleys 2-1/2

The Wadleys were great. So patient with us as we had a bit of an electronic catastrophe with their pictures (that's a first, honest!). Anyway, they were very gracious to let us fix the situation and they've even promised to schedule another session just as soon as the baby is about 8 weeks old and can respond with smiles and giggles.

Maternity pictures can span quite a range of styles. I've seem some pretty risque photos of pregnant ladies, and that's definitely not our style or within our comfort zone. It was really a pleasure to work with Sara and Mike to get some great photos that will always remind them of the pleasures of this time in their lives. Here's one of our favorites and you can click on it to see the rest of the proofs...

New Pics :: Werner Family

The Werner family was so sweet! Did you ever meet total strengers and feel like you've known them for years? They were so nice, and although all of the kids were overheated due to the heat and humidity, I think we all had a pretty good time. =) Here's one of my personal faves and you can click on it to link directly to the proof page. Enjoy!

Cannedy Family Proofs

We got to try a few fun new things out with the Cannedy family, who were game for our original ideas. They were fun to work with and we had a great time getting to know them and working on their pictures. Here's one we did that's a bit unusual, but fun... Click on it to take you to the full proof page of all of the pictures.

Harliss Family Proofs

The Harliss family was fun to work with. Holly has known them for many years and it was a pleasure to work with them to capture images of their cute little boy in addition to family pictures of the three of them. It is SO great to be able to provide top quality photographs that we know will last for the duration of our customer's lives! Here's one of my favorites from the day, but there are about 30 more on our website.

MySpace update

We updated our myspace layout finally. In the process we lost 20 or more pictures of past proofs from the profile page. Not lost, really, but it's too much work right now to put them all back up. Anyway, have a gander and let us know what you think! (Click on "MySpace update" above to check it out.)
