Wedding Bloopers Galore!

This is too funny! Wedding parties ask me all the time, what is the most crazy thing I have ever seen at a wedding. Well... here it is.

Okay, to be honest I wasn't there, but that has to be near the top of the list of crazy things to happen at a wedding, wouldn't you say?

Do you have a story of some crazy thing that's happened at a wedding? Feel free to share! =)

Blogging: Feast and Famine

In case you haven't noticed, when things get really busy it's easy for us to skip blogging for several weeks on end. We don't forget the blog, it just gets prioritized behind other important things like sleeping, eating and working. =) We've had a few days of blogging every day now and I've read about many others who blog every day no matter what. They make it a priority.

So I'd like your feedback! How often is right? I think once every couple of weeks is definitely not enough, but is once a day too much? And I'm not talking about from a work point of view, but from an interested reader's point of view. We'd like to hear from you on the subject of how often you'd like to hear from us! =)

So, leave us a comment or drop us an email while you're thinking of it and let us know what you think. We'd be grateful!

And while I have you, I won't leave you without one of our recent images to look at. Here's one from Chris & Brandy's wedding in Texas a few weekends ago. Okay, I can't decide on just one.... Here are four. =)

I just loved the emotion of the last image of Chris dancing with his mother.

Thanks for checking in and we wish you a wonderful weekend! Should be a busy one for us... More on that later!

New Proposal Gallery is Now Online

Inspired by our most recent proposal session with Brandon and Tori, we finally got our proposal gallery online. You can view it by visiting our website and clicking on the "weddings & more" link and finally the "Proposals" gallery. I think we blogged about the four proposals featured on the gallery, but it's been a while so if you've seen them before you may enjoy them once again.

Let us know what you think! We'd love to hear from you.

Website Downtime

Our web host (Westhost) has been having trouble today (again!) and as a result, our site was down for at least 45 minutes earlier today. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Tori & Brandon's Proposal & Engagement Session

Here are some favorites from our most recent proposal session. Up to now, we've been hiding for these kinds of proposal sessions, but since Tori set up the session, Brandon was totally able to catch her off guard when he dropped to one knee and held out a diamond ring. I love it!

We started out just cruising around Bricktown, chasing the good light and finding cool locations to shoot...

Here's where things really got fun... We'd all but wrapped up the session when Brandon said we had a few more shots that needed to be taken over here...

Fun times, guys! Thanks so much for being so great to work with! I really enjoyed getting to know you and I'm looking forward to photographing your wedding next October!!

I'd post more commentary, but it's dinner time and I know you're just here to see the photos anyway. =)

If you know Tori & Brandon, check out their entire online gallery here!

Chelsea & Craig's Wedding at Coles Garden, OKC

Just wanted to share some of our favorites from our most recently posted wedding - Craig & Chelsea's!

Craig & Chelsea had us there to photograph their romantic rehearsal dinner lakeside at Pearls/Lakeside Fish Grill right on Lake Hefner and afterwords had reserved the outdoor pavilion for drinks and mingling while enjoying the live band. It was the perfect evening to enjoy the outdoors, and the spectacular sunset.

Captured moments from the rehearsal dinner party

The next day started with the guys hanging out at Craig's very cool garage to work on his sweet getaway ride. Here he is doing the finishing touches to make the hand-painted "Just Married" lettering perfect.

Nice custom gear shifter. =)

I loved this one of the flower girl passing by, dropping rose petals. And isn't that a cool dress?

The Oklahoma wind always makes for some fun times with long veils

Fast forward a few hours of reception and the car is ready for the getaway! I heard that many hours and many cans of Red Bull went into restoring this black beauty. Fitting that they used Red Bull cans to tie to the back. =)

Congratulations, Craig & Chelsea! It was really a delight to help you with your engagement and wedding photography! Thanks for being so much fun to work and hang out with!!

Session Available Tonight!

Wow, what a wonderful Monday!! Okay, it's absolutely perfect weather and today was one of my reserved rain dates, so I don't have anything booked! Does anyone need a family session? this is probably our last available October date (besides 2 other rain dates that can't be booked ahead).

Let us know ASAP and we'll get it planned! (Call us at 405/623.7381) I know it's short notice, but there may be others like us who do better with spontaneous planning. =)

If not, I may be able to get out and play a round of disc golf or something to take a little break from editing.

Oh, and here's my favorite from the wedding posted this weekend. I have about 2 dozen other faves to post too, so stay tuned...

Hope you have a great day!

Didja Miss Us? (...& Alyssa's Senior Faves)

Well, life is just never going to slow down and be less busy, so I suppose we may as well stop talking about how busy things have been and giving excuses for not blogging! =)

There's no way I can catch up and blog the scores of sessions we've done the last few weeks, so I'm just going to start with one of our most recently posted sessions and try to keep up from here as best we can. =)

Don't you just LOVE October?! I think it's my new favorite month. I always thought I loved Spring most, but moving to warmer climes have changed my faves. When I lived in Ontario (growing up) the winter was just SO long and bleak that Spring was like the greatest hope to look forward to. Now that we live in Oklahoma where the weather regularly hits triple digits and cools down to 90 at night, Fall has become much more exciting to look forward to. =)

Anyway, just wanted to share my favorites from Alyssa's session down at the Myriad Gardens. She was a great sport and didn't mind showing a little personality for the camera, which always makes for a fun and productive session.

Okay, it's back to work. Hope you enjoyed the brief update, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We actually don't have a wedding this weekend, so we're looking forward to being able to catch up on a few things around here for a change. It's nice to have a real weekend like "normal" people. =)

Digital TV, The Common Sense Economy Fix, etc.

Well, we're back from a whirlwind week of about four thousand miles, I'm guessing. We started the week off with a much needed break, just Holly and I poolside at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Neither of us had ever been there, but we got a great deal on flights and a really nice hotel with 5 pools and that sounded great! We've been needing a little getaway with just the 2 of us for a few months now, so when we found a little break in the schedule, we went for it. We had a wonderful time, soaked up some rays, ate great food and walked around to see all of the extravagance on display in Vegas.

Then we drove down to Dallas/Ft. Worth on Friday for a Saturday wedding there (Chris & Brandy's wedding - you might remember seeing a bunch of photos in our blog of their engagement session). The wedding was wonderful and we even ran into a few old friends that encouraged us to stay an extra night there to hang out and visit. So, it's Monday and we're finally back in the office, returning calls, emails and polishing up photos!

And now, a random rant. =) Is anyone else tired of hearing and seeing the digital TV ads yet? I swear that they play more than all of the political ads combined, and often back to back. It started almost a year ago and if there's a single person in the United States who hasn't been duly warned of the changeover from analog to digital, I'll be really surprised. And we have 3 or 4 more months of this to endure before it actually happens! Argh... I personally think that watching TV commercials actually makes a person dumber and watching the same commercials over and over accelerate the IQ dive. I'm sure there's some research somewhere that can support that. =)

Anyway, on that subject, Holly's Aunt likes to forward funny things to us and I got a kick out of this one on the subject of digital TV. Hope you enjoy!

I try not to get into politics much on my blog, because I'm a bit of an independent thinker and I think it would probably just irritate people, but I did run across a really interesting plan to help the economy without having to spend the almost-one-trillion dollars that was just passed in the bailout bill. I'm sure none of us has a good handle on how much money that really is, and how that debt will affect our kids and the long-term future of our economy.

Anyway, here's a link to the initial article I read on Dave Ramsey's website and a here's a link to the actual plan (it's a PDF doc).

The interesting thing is how easy it is to make a difference. I once called my congressman once about an issue I felt strongly about and they said that they were having an overwhelming response from the people - that a dozen people had called! That said, I emailed my Senators and Representative and I hope they'll be able to make some of these steps in the right direction. Maybe I should have called them... =)
